Mayor Caroline St-Pierre Taylor


Born in Granby, Quebec, the third of five children. Studied in Granby, Quebec until university. Graduated from McGill University (MacDonald College) with a degree in Animal Science in 1982. Moved to Fredericton to become the Manager of the N.B. Cattle Producers Association.  Over the next few years, worked for the N.B. Nurses Union as a communication officer, TransCanada Pipelines (Sable Gas System) as their spokesperson, the N.B. Department of Agriculture as a Grain Grader and finally with the Federal Government at Agriculture and Agrifood Canada, first as a Communications Officer and finally as the Manager of Programs and Farm Debt Mediation for the East (Ontario, Quebec, and the Atlantic Provinces. Worked there for 27 years, and still continues to enjoy the challenges the job brings daily.

Moved to Doaktown in 1991, Married Everett Taylor and together they raised 4 children.

In 1996, they opened Ledges Inn and have been operating the business ever since.  This past year (2021), with all the COVID challenges, they built and finally opened the Lower Ledge Gastropub.  Our businesses employ over 30 people seasonally.

Deputy Mayor Paige Storey


Born and raised in Miramichi, Paige moved to Doaktown in 2010 after she met her now husband, Jonathan . She is a hockey step-mom to 2 teenage boys – Brody & Zachary & a dog mom to Hank & Louie. Paige works as the Maternal Child Health Certified Home Visitor for the Natoaganeg Health Centre in the Indigenous community of Natoaganeg of which she is a member. She offers support to new Moms, babies & young families. As a resident of the Village of Doaktown, Paige does her best to stay connected by being involved in different committees in the area. She is on the Board of Directors for the Community Library; a member of the Boiestown/Doaktown Minor Hockey Association & the Unit Leader for the 1st Upper Miramichi Sparks and Brownies. Paige is always looking for opportunities to help her community in whatever way she can & appreciates any concerns and/or from the residents. In her spare time you will find her either standing behind her camera taking photos or at Prospect Place cheering on her stepsons hockey team.

Councillor Andrew Betts


Andrew Kevin Betts was born , raised and still resides in the beautiful Village of Doaktown. He is a big believer in hard work, God the Father, and the importance of family. He is married to Erica Betts and they have two beautiful children.
Andrew is the owner and manager of Clay Hill Equipment, specializing in land management and tree harvesting. In 2010 he started his company with just himself. Today it has grown into a sizeable company directly employing 30 men in the Doaktown area. In 2019 he was awarded the top ten in Canada under 40 years of age by the Canadian Forestry Industries. Recognizing forestry’s next generation.
Andrew has always enjoyed sports and is now teaching his son these skills along with other children in the community. He would love to see the next generation of youth transformed into the people of the future.  He will be working towards the betterment of the Youth in our community.

Councillor Beresford Price


Was born in Miramichi in February 1961,  Raised in Doaktown  . In July of 1984 Married a Doaktown Girl and raised three children in Doaktown. His only Daughter lives in the area where she lives with thier four Grandchildren. Worked in Doaktown his entire Adult life at the J.D. Irving Sawmill(formerly Russell and Swim Sawmill),  began as a Labourer and then quickly rose through the ranks and become a Power Engineer. Was a Supervisor for approximately 12 years,  served on the Safety Committee for over twenty years, carry out Environmental issues for the Site in conjunction with Management, and sit on numerous other site committees. From an early age he instilled into thier kids the importance of God and Church, for us Sunday was Church time as well as other occasions. That’s why he is an Aspiring Deacon in the Church and has sit on many Committees over the years. He is very passionate about our community and Village and its future moving forward,   and brings the same passion and dedication to the Village as he has in his work life and Christian life to the table.



Councillor Art O’Donnell


Born in Fredericton in 1963 to parents Baden and Mary, brother to Robert, Moyra and Rebecca. Arthur graduated from DCHS in 1981 and attended university in Fredericton for 2 years.
In 1985 he joined the Royal Canadian Navy, attended recruit training at CFB Cornwallis and went on to trades training at CFB Esquimalt to become a Naval Communicator. His interests in “Teamwork” led him to many extra duties in the Navy where he became a Ship’s Diver, Fitness evaluator, Ship’s Boarding Team leader, and member of the 1988 East Coast Gun Run team.
He was deployed to the Gulf War, Former Yugoslavia, and Fleet Staff for operations in Afghanistan. During his 25 year career he accumulated in excess of 16 years sea time and travelled throughout the world. Arthur married his best friend and mother to their four children, Lorrie O’Donnell (McDonald) of Blissfield. His children all reside outside NB; Pattie in
Musquodoboit, Peter in Calgary, Ryan in Barry, and Neil in Eastern Passage. Arthur’s family is his world and his grand daughter Aurora has Art and Lorrie wrapped around her finger!!
Since moving home in 2010 he has been an active community member. 2 terms as President of Br. 23 RCL, 1 term as Councillor, assisted in bringing Jr B hockey to the area, and sits on several boards.
