Feel free to contact us if you have any questions

The question I always get is "Why did you move to Doaktown" as an inquisitive question from people we meet.
I could not believe the friendliness of the town, with people dropping off goodies on our doorstep, delivering groceries, delivering hardware items and deliver take-out to us.
We could not wait to explore our town. We were in awe, crossing over the bridge. The scenery was breathtaking. To this day, I still get the same feeling when I cross over the bridge. The beautiful trees and the mighty Miramichi river, right at our fingertips. There are so many places to explore, the covered bridge at Nelson's Hollow, Priceville Footbridge, so many trails and places to swim.
The town itself has everything you need here, something I did not have when I lived in Ontario in a very small town. The people are very friendly and are willing to help you out anytime you call on them.
We have made many friendships and our social calendar is full.
In conclusion, Doaktown is where we will lay our roots.
Thank you to all the people we have met so far. You have been gracious in accepting us into your, and now our, community.

Jenny Chappell

New Resident of the Village of Doaktown

Good Morning Mayor Munn and Mayor O'Donnell.

I just wanted to send you a quick note about my weekend. I have a 14-year-old daughter who plays varsity volleyball for the Tantramar Titans team here in Sackville, NB and we put our name in to play in a tournament at the Central New Brunswick Academy on Saturday this past weekend. All the parents who brought the girls to the tournament had to get up around 5:00 am to get there on time for our first game so everyone was running on little sleep and little patience.

I'm telling you both this because I wanted to let you know what an absolute joy it was to be a part of the tournament and surrounded by people from your communities. The welcome that we got was immediately noticed by players, coaches, and parents and not just at the school (which is a beautiful building, by the way) but by the stores and gas stations we visited as well. The girls on the team made friends with players from most of the teams even though they were fighting hard to win and a lot of them left with contacts added on their Snapchat (I'm too old to use it.....but from what I'm told you don't just give your contact out to anyone ?).

We also had an unfortunate incident with one of our girls when she took a wonky step and ended up with a badly sprained ankle. She will be on crutches for a while! The support she got during the incident and even days after was truly impressive and touching. The staff from the school, parents and coaches from the teams, and even the players themselves were helping to get this girl everything she needed and helped her get back into her truck for the long ride back to the Moncton hospital. We've had people reach out after asking how she is and if she is ok.

With the feeling that I got being in your municipalities and involved in this tournament, you should feel lucky and proud of how special your communities are and the people that represent them.....which I'm sure you do. Just wanted to pass this along and to say thank you to you both and your residents for the impact you've made on us here in Tantramar.

Have a fantastic day!
